​​Our goal is to build and retain a qualified, diverse workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve. The Ohio Department of Transportation actively engages in efforts that foster collaborative relationships to attract talent typically underrepresented in our workforce.

ODOT oversees building and maintaining the nation’s fifth largest interstate system and the second largest number of bridges. We take pride in providing safe and efficient roadways for the people of Ohio and to the people traveling within our great state. The department employs over 5,000 employees in Central Office in Columbus, 12 regional district offices, and maintenance facilities Ohio's 88 counties

The Second Chance Apprentice Program

ODOT partners with Ohio correctional institutions and focuses on individuals due to be released. The program provides opportunities for a pathway to full-time stable employment with ODOT.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities

ODOT embraces empowering Ohioans with disabilities through employment, providing employers with guidance and assistance in hiring and retaining Ohio workers with disabilities through accessibility services such as vocational rehabilitation and training.

Veterans Program

ODOT supports the employment of veterans in the agency workforce.  We value the commitment, work ethic and experience veterans bring to the job, as well as their specialized skills and talents.
