BOWLING GREEN - ODOT is beginning an eight month bridge rehabilitation project on the Oak St./SR 65 bridge in East Toledo.
The bridge over the railroad, between Fassett Street and Navarre Avenue, will have vehicular and pedestrian traffic maintained. The rehabilitation includes replacement of reinforced concrete deck, bearing replacement, vandal fence installation, minimal approach pavement replacement, and necessary related work.
Crews will begin prep work on Monday, February 17 with possible lane restrictions.
Then on Tuesday, February 18 through the first phase of construction, traffic will be one lane bi-directional. One direction of traffic will go over the bridge at a time using a traffic signal on either side.
During the second phase, traffic will be one lane in each direction.
The sidewalk will remain open the entire project. However, this is an active construction zone, so for everyone's safety pedestrians must use the sidewalk.
Earl Street at Oak Street will be closed during the whole project, reopening at the end of October.
