ODOT seeking public comment

ODOT plans to replace culverts along state Route 60 and U.S. 42 Ashland County, Ohio. These are ODOT-let projects located at two location in Ashland County, Ohio. They are as follows:

ASD-42-15.05

This project site is located along state Route 60 approximately 1.2 miles north of the state Route 60 and U.S. 250 intersection in Clear Creek Township, Ashland County, Ohio.

The project consists of replacing a deficient 41-foot long concrete box culvert (CFN #:1803909) with a 95-foot long reinforced concrete elliptical pipe. Additionally, approximately 40 feet of rock channel protection at the inlet/outlet of the new structure and full height headwalls will be installed. The total permanent impact to the unnamed tributary to the Vermilion River will be approximately 135 LF. There is 0.027-acre of suitable wooded habitat (SWH) without roosting habitat for federally listed bat species located within the project study area that will be cleared during construction.

The project will require the permanent taking of right-of-way from adjacent parcels. No deep excavation will not be required for the proposed work. However, utilities will need to be relocated to complete the work associated with the project.

This project is federally, and state funded. The project will require a detour. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2021.
