Greene County (Tuesday, May 23, 2023) – Ramp closures will be in effect this week and next at two interchanges on U.S. Route 35 as part of the ongoing resurfacing project.
On Thursday, May 25, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close the off-ramp from U.S. 35 West to Old U.S. 35 for pavement work. The closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and while the ramp is closed, motorists may detour by way of the Bickett Road interchange to Old U.S. 35.
Then on Tuesday, May 30, the eastbound U.S. 35 off-ramp to S.R. 72 will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the westbound U.S. 35 off-ramp to S.R. 72 will be closed on Wednesday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Motorists wanting to travel S.R. 72 South toward Jamestown may detour by way of the Old U.S. 35 interchange.
The U.S. 35 project includes repairing pavement and resurfacing the route between the interchange at Old U.S. 35 and the Greene-Fayette County line. Construction also includes minor bridge repairs and paving the ramps within the project limits.
The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $4.9 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2023.
