Greene County U.S. 35 Valley Trebein Project Update 05 23 23

Greene County (Tuesday, May 23, 2023) – An overnight closure of Trebein Road will be in effect next week for drainage work as part of the U.S. 35-Valley/Trebein interchange project.

On Tuesday, May 30, Trebein Road will be closed between U.S. 35 and Dayton Xenia Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, while contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation install a storm sewer across Trebein Road. Message boards and signing have been placed to directed motorists, and traffic will be detoured by way of Dayton Xenia Road, Progress Drive in Xenia, and U.S. 35.

In addition to next week's closure of Trebein Road, overnight lane closures are in place this week on U.S. 35 for construction of the center pier for the new bridge over U.S. 35. Continuing through Thursday, May 25, the left lane of westbound U.S. 35 will be closed each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

The lane closure will be in place just to the east and west of the Valley/Trebein roads intersection, and traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

The U.S. 35-Valley/Trebein project will upgrade 1.28 miles of U.S. 35 to a limited-access facility by replacing the existing intersection with an interchange and overpass of Valley/Trebein over U.S. 35. The project includes bridge construction, retaining wall construction, and upgrades to Valley and Trebein roads at the intersection.

The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract to build the interchange and complete other roadway improvements, and all work is scheduled to be completed in October 2025.
