Four Pillars of our Strategic Advance

Recently, ODOT leadership from around the state developed Four Pillars by which we will advance the department. These strategic objectives were born out of listening to our customers, stakeholders and partners. The Four Pillars of our Strategic Advance are Safe, Accessible, Well-Maintained and Positioned for the Future Benefit of Ohio. Each topic has a detailed Transcript Radio Podcast with Director Marchbanks, tune in for even more on each.

SAFE    Pillar 1 Podcast

The first pillar, Safe, is all about addressing specific safety concerns on state and local roads as well as improving safety in work zones.

ACCESSIBLE     Pillar 2 Podcast

How are we doing?

Our mission at ODOT is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place-to-place. And, we strive daily to reach that goal by: improving safety; taking care of what we have; making our system work better; and, enhancing capacity. Ohio’s network of roads, bridges, and highways is the state’s most valuable physical asset – totaling $115 billion.

If you think those goals and aspirations are impressive, check out some Ohio transportation statistics to find out more about our system.
