Belmont County: Construction update

Current and upcoming road closures and restrictions for Belmont County are listed below. Click on each route to see the location at OHGO.com


U.S. Route 250 slide repair: Work is underway on a slide repair project located just north of Martins Ferry. Traffic is currently maintained via temporary traffic signals. The completion date is November 30, 2022.

State Route 149/ I-70 intersection improvement: Work includes widening and turn lane installation at the intersection of State Route 149 and I-70 in Morristown. During this work, traffic will be maintained via flaggers. Some ramp restrictions may occur throughout the project. The completion date is November 30, 2022.

State Route 7 resurfacing near Bridgeport: Work is underway to resurface SR 7 from Bridgeport to Bellaire. During this work, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The completion date is November 30, 2022.

I-70 median barrier wall/ resurfacing project near St. Clairsville: Work will resume next spring to resurface five miles of I-70 from EXIT 218 to EXIT 213. Work was completed in 2022 on the median barrier wall within the project area.  The completion date is May 31, 2023.

State Route 148 slide repair: Project is located just west of SR 145. Traffic is currently maintained via temporary traffic signals. The completion date is June 30, 2023.

State Route 7 culvert replacement project: Work is underway to replace a SR 7 culvert located two miles north of Dilles Bottom. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during this work with an 11-foot width restriction. The completion date is July 31, 2023

WVDOH I-70 bridge replacement project: Located along I-70 between Marion St. and the Ohio/West Virginia state line. East and westbound traffic is restricted to one, 12-foot lane via crossovers.
