Trucking Registration and Regulations

Multiple state and federal agencies oversee commercial vehicle regulations, commercial driver licenses (CDLs), and oversized hauling permits.

The Ohio Department of Transportation constructs and maintains the state transportation system. ODOT is not responsible for commercial vehicle regulations, registration, licensing, inspections, or insurance.   "DOT" numbers, and related DOT Driver Issues (i.e. medical cards, drug and alcohol testings)  ARE NOT issued or supported by the Ohio Department of Transportation: there are U.S. DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (USDOT FMCSA) supported designations and processes!

Below are some resources that may be helpful for commercial vehicle drivers and industry partners.
