Mitch Blackford is the Ohio Department of Transportation’s assistant director of field operations. He is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the deputy directors in each of the state’s 12 transportation districts, and oversees the central office divisions of operations, facilities, and equipment management.
Prior to his appointment as assistant director, Mitch served as the department’s District 6 deputy director, the district’s highway management administrator and held Madison, Delaware, and Franklin County ODOT administrator positions.
He joined ODOT in May 2005.
Mitch was born and raised in Sidney, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University.
