ODOT seeking public comment on Montgomery County projects

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

MOT-Hewitt Bikeway Connector, PID 105751 - The City of Kettering and the City of Centerville are planning to construct the Hewitt Avenue Bikeway Connector.  The connector will begin at the Iron Horse Bike Trail and continue eastward along Whipp Road and Hewitt Avenue to the intersection of Bigger Road.  The project is necessary to provide a bicycle-friendly connection between Iron Horse Trail and Bigger Road Trail.

MOT-Kettering Signals Phase 3, PID 105950 – The City of Kettering proposes to reconstruct six traffic signals to current standards.  The project is necessary to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of this portion of the City’s traffic signal system.

MOT-Lamme Road Improvements, PID 107991 – The Montgomery County Engineer proposes to improve Lamme Road from Alex-Bell Road to Bushwick Drive (about 3000 feet) and Alex-Bell Road east of Lamme Road (about 500 feet) in Miami Township.  Improvements consist of the replacement of the bridge over Holes Creek, resurfacing the roadway, replacement of deteriorated sidewalk, and upgrade of the existing traffic signal.  The project is necessary to address deteriorated conditions and outdated features.  Pedestrian traffic at the bridge location will be maintained, but nearby bus stops will need to be closed during construction, due to the closure of the road to vehicle traffic at the bridge.
