Hamilton County Lytle Tunnel Work Will Require Restrictions Early Next Week

Hamilton County (Friday, June 11, 2021) - Restrictions will be in place on Interstate 71 at the Lytle Tunnel early next week as part of a project to repair and rehab masonry along the tunnel walls.

Sunday, June 13:

  • Single-lane (left lane) closure on northbound I-71 between the I-71/U.S. 50 split and through the tunnel from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 14. 

Monday, June 14:

  • Single-lane (right lane) closure on northbound I-71 between the I-71/U.S. 50 split and through the tunnel from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 15.
  • Closure of the 2nd Street ramp to I-71 North from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday & Wednesday, June 15 & 16:

  • Closure of the 3rd Street ramp and the left lane of I-71 southbound through the tunnel from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day.

Wednesday & Thursday, June 16 & 17:

  • Single-lane closure on northbound I-71 between the I-71/U.S. 50 split and through the tunnel beginning at 9 p.m., with a closure of the 2nd Street ramp beginning at 10 p.m. each night. Restrictions will be lifted by 5 a.m. the following day.

All work will be contingent upon the weather, and arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and restrictions.
