Catching a meteor on camera

We catch a lot of crazy things on our traffic cameras: Tornadoes, earthquakes, snow squalls, drivers going in reverse, and now meteors.

At 6:24:42am on September 30, 2020, several people reported seeing a streaking light in the sky above Ohio. That prompted us to look at the more than 800 traffic cameras ODOT operates through OHGO.com to see what we could find. Sure enough, we spotted the flash on several cameras from Stebenville to Cincinnati and Cleveland to Columbus.
