Allen County: Construction update

Week of November 22, 2021


LIMA, Ohio (Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021) The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Allen County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Work will not take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25.

This is the final weekly construction update from ODOT District 1 for the year. Updates on area projects will be provided as needed throughout the winter. Weekly communication will resume in April.


I-75 web  

INTERSTATE 75 PROJECTS

(Delayed) Interstate 75 between Thayer Road and State Road, south of the village of Beaverdam, will have rolling road blocks Nov. 18-19 from 9 a.m. to noon  for utility work.

  • Work is delayed and will be rescheduled.
US 30 small web  

U.S. 30 PROJECTS

U.S. 30, just east of Beaverdam, will have shoulder closures in both directions for culvert rehabilitation.

U.S. 30, west of the Interstate 75 interchange, will have lane restrictions and road closures for a project to construct a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) at Thayer Road, and cul-de-sacs at Cool Road and Mayberry Road. Visit the project page for more information.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

  • Thayer Road at U.S. 30 is open to traffic.
  • Cul-de-sacs at Cool Road and Mayberry Road are open to traffic.
  • Crews will be on site periodically for finish work; no impact to traffic is anticipated.

(Delayed) U.S. 30 over Interstate 75, near the village of Beaverdam, will have rolling road blocks Nov. 15-17 from 9 a.m. to noon for utility work.

  • Work is delayed and will be rescheduled.

Fifth Street ( in the city of Delphos will experience lane restrictions and closures for a project to resurface two miles of roadway. Work also includes traffic signal upgrades, curb replacement, and sidewalk installation. Work will occur between Menke Street and Lehman Road. 

TRAFFIC IMPACT

  • Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction between Main Street and Elida Road.
  • Traffic pattern expected to in the final permanent locations within the week.

 


DISTRICT WIDE

All four-lane routes -- Interstate 75, U.S. 23, U.S. 24, U.S. 30, State Route 15 -- will have temporary lane or shoulder closures for highway lighting upgrades. High-pressure sodium fixtures (HPS) will be replaced with light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires. Lighting will be added at 12 locations where drivers make key decisions. Nonessential lighting will be removed.  Temporary lane or shoulder restrictions may occur. Visit the project webpage for more information.

All overpasses and underpasses along Interstate 75 and U.S. 30 will have temporary lane restrictions to replace guardrails. Traffic will be maintained at all times with automated flagging devices.
