The primary function of the Office of Access & Equity is to ensure that the Ohio Department of Transportation is in full compliance with all related federal and state non-discrimination laws, regulations, directives, and executive orders in all its programs and activities. The Office of Access & Equity is the focal point for equal opportunity compliance activities and functions conducted throughout the Department’s multi-modal transportation divisional programs and statewide activities.
The mission of the Office of Access & Equity is to advocate, administer, implement, and monitor the Department’s services and activities, through civil rights programs to ensure compliance with federal and state non-discrimination laws, rules, regulations, and executive orders, as well as policies of the Department.
The Office of Access & Equity is committed to promoting opportunity and diversity for applicants and employees of the Department. The Office of Access & Equity will assist the Department in fulfilling its fundamental value of striving to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of our state by facilitating and endeavoring to achieve full compliance with federal and state civil rights regulations by providing technical assistance and guidance in the area of civil rights to the Department’s state-wide multi-modal transportation divisional programs and staff offices.
