Walking and biking are essential transportation options in Ohio communities. ODOT's Active Transportation Program addresses the needs of people walking and biking while helping buld local, regional and state-level capacity to ensure that walking and biking are safe, comfortable and convenient transportation options.
What is Active Transportation?
Active transportation is human-powered transportation that engages people in healthy physical activity while they travel from place to place. People walking, bicycling, using strollers, wheelchairs/mobility devices, skateboarding and rollerblading are engaged in active transportation.
