Highway Infrastructure Management

The Highway Infrastructure Management Program concerns itself with road surfaces and road characteristics to ensure Ohio's roadways are safe and reliable.

The Highway Infrastructure Management Program staff coordinates and manages the products and services that ODOT staff and external transportation professionsals depend on to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of our roadway surface.

Highway Infrastructure staff collects, edits, analyzes and reports on a variety of data collected on our system including: Photolog Images, Highway Friction/Skid data, Highway Rideability and Highway cores and thickness buildups. Information concerning highway behavior (deterioration, treatments) and highway surface characteristics (friction, tire/pavement noise, rideability, splash/spray, water run-off) can be obtained from Section members. It is also the intention of this Section to assist ODOT with advancing Transportation Asset Management.
