The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) generally holds jurisdiction over state, federal, and interstate highways outside of municipalities. The agency oversees policies and permits for traffic regulations, traffic signals, and speed limits along those routes.
In the library below, see more information and a listing of approved speed zones, school zone extensions, parking restrictions and village sign permits.
A speed zone is a section of roadway with a speed limit that differs from the statutory speed limit.
School Zone Extensions
Existing school zones may be extended in certain situations.
On state highways, special authorization is required to prohibit parking.
Village Traffic Signals
Village signal permits are required for villages with warranted, authorized signals on state routes.
No Passing Zones
Centerline passing and no passing zone logs are established at locations where site distance or other special conditions make it unsafe to pass another vehicle.
Contact local staff regarding traffic regulations.
