The ODOT Office of Transit is committed to ensuring that all transit providers in the State of Ohio receive the training necessary to enhance the knowledge and skills needed to provide the best transportation services to Ohio’s travelers. By offering low-cost or no-cost training opportunities to transportation service providers through the Ohio Technical Assistance Program (OTAP), managers and staff of these providers can become well versed in the ins and outs of public and human-service transportation.
ODOT's Office of Transit has access to many trainers ranging from ODOT staff, staff from other state agencies, the federal government, or individuals with expertise and experience in many transportation related areas. Training is provided in many areas including state and federal regulatory compliance, financial management, transportation operations safety and efficiency, transit management, mobility management, and information on how to best coordinate transportation services in Ohio. These training course offerings are listed on the Transit Training Calendar site. Requests for additional training courses not currently offered in the training program can be sent to the Office of Transit Compliance Officer at Tyler.Bender@dot.ohio.gov.
