The Office of Transit advocates and supports safe and reliable personal mobility by coordinating and funding public transportation as a vital element of Ohio's transportation system.
Transit staff provide financial and technical assistance to public transit systems, local governments, and human service agencies throughout the state for the planning, establishment, and operation of public transportation systems.
Transit staff serve the public in two ways: coordination and assistance. Working with ODOT staff, local and federal government agencies as well as transit organizations across the state and the country, transit staff accomplish the following:
Maintain compliance and oversight programs;
Operate a robust training and technical assistance programs;
Write, update and publish living publications to ensure transit partners are working efficiently and effectively toward a statewide transit system;
Organize and coordinate funding programs to ensure state funding on transit systems is fairly distributed and accurately reported.
