About the South Side Mega Fix
This $120 million project will reconstruct and widen I-71 between I-70 and Stringtown Road, south of downtown Columbus. The project also includes:
- Reconfiguration of the I-71 south/I-270 interchange.
- Construction of a new ramp from I-71 south to Stringtown Road.
- Replacement of five bridges.
- Construction of two noise walls.
The project is expected to complete in 2020.
This project is the companion to a completed $40 million project to widen I-71 between Stringtown Road and state Route 665. The first project completed in November 2017.
