Project description

Construction began in Spring 2020 to widen and reconstruct I-71 from Broad Street to Long Street. This project will also replace the Broad St. bridge over I-71, construct Lester Dr. and Elijah Pierce Ave. between Broad St. and Long St., and build two retaining walls.

Current traffic impacts and alternate routes

Current ramp impacts include:

  • Exit ramp from I-71 south to Broad St. is permanently CLOSED.
  • Entrance ramp from westbound Broad St. to I-71 north is permanently CLOSED.
  • Exit ramp from I-71 north to Broad St. is CLOSED until June 2021.
  • Entrance ramp from Broad St. to I-71 south is CLOSED until June 2022.
