Restricted Crossing U-Turn at S.R. 32 and Bauer Road in Clermont County

In an effort to improve safety, ODOT is proposing to convert the intersection of S.R. 32 and Bauer Road near Batavia to a signalized Restricted Crossing U-Thurn (RCUT) design. In 2018, ODOT completed a crash study and found 114 reported crashes in the previous four years, 40 percent with injuries. In the proposed alternative, the RCUT will limit traffic from Bauer Road to right-out only turning movements with the addition of two supplemental, signalized U-turn intersections on S.R. 32 on either side of the main intersection. All work will be done within the state's right of way, so no property purchases are needed, and no environmental impacts are anticipated.

Although the public comment period has concluded, additional information about the project can be found on the Public Input web site at https://publicinput.com/ODOT110422, and to see how to navigate an RCUT, watch the video below and visit the links in the Related Resources section to the right
